Free second Saturn return calculator: your exact dates at 58 and 59 from the Swiss Ephemeris, one pass or three, how long it lasts, who is in it in 2026 to 2028.
Saturn takes about 29.5 years to travel the zodiac, so it comes back to the degree it held at your birth twice in an ordinary lifetime and three times in a long one. The second time is the second Saturn return. Because Saturn slows, stations and retrogrades every year, the return is a phase rather than a day: the calculator dates every exact crossing of your natal degree and the window in which Saturn stays within one degree of it. In our census the gap from the first return's first exact pass to the second's ran from 29.1 to 29.9 years, median 29.1.
We solved every exact pass for one birthday every eleven days from 1935 to 1975 with the production ephemeris, 1,362 births in all. The first return's first exact pass came at 28.4 to 29.9 (median 29.1), the second at 58.2 to 59.0 (median 58.6), the third at 87.3 to 88.8 (median 88.1). Every one of them began between 58 and 59; none before 58 or after 59. The natal sign hardly moves the age and does move the odds of a three-pass return:
Saturn is retrograde about four and a half months of every year. When the retrograde loop falls on your natal degree, transiting Saturn crosses it three times: forward, backward, forward again. When the loop falls elsewhere, once. In the census 59.0% of second returns had three passes and 41.0% had one; the three-pass returns ran a median of 263 days from first pass to final pass and 273 days at most. Astrologers read the three as a sequence: the first pass starts the lesson, the retrograde pass reviews it, the final pass sets the structure.
Every birthday in each year solved from the Swiss Ephemeris; each year has its own page below with every birth month dated. The range is wide because Saturn moves roughly a degree a month through a birth year, so a January and a December birthday carry natal Saturn positions up to about twelve degrees apart.
Saturn entered Aries to stay on February 14, 2026 and leaves for Taurus on April 13, 2028. Everyone born with Saturn in Aries, March 3, 1967 to April 29, 1969, meets the second return during that transit, and the Taurus-born cohorts of 1969 to 1971 follow from 2028. A three-pass return runs from the first exact pass to the final one: a median of 263 days in our census, 271 days at the 90th percentile, 273 at most, so about 9 months as a rule. Not for the dates. Saturn moves at most about an eighth of a degree a day, so the birth date alone fixes each exact pass to within a day or two. The birth time decides the house your natal Saturn sits in, which is the part astrologers use to say which arena of life the return lands in.
No, it closes the arc they open.
