Relocation astrology is often sold as a fresh start, and the calculator shows exactly how much of that is true: the angles turn, a planet that was buried in the 12th house at home can rise to the Ascendant abroad, and the houses reshuffle. What does not change is the chart itself: your Sun stays in its sign, your aspects stay exact, and the planets that keep their house in every city you try are the part of you a move cannot alter. Both halves matter before a lease.
The classic relocation signature is a planet within a few degrees of the relocated Ascendant, Midheaven, Descendant or IC. Venus on the Ascendant in a city tends to make you more sociable and more sought after there; Saturn on the Midheaven puts career and its weight at the front; the Moon on the IC makes a place feel like home. The calculator lists every angular planet per city with its orb, and the reading that follows says which of those is the planet your chart needs more of and which you already have too much of.
Your natal chart recalculated for the same moment of birth at a different location. The planets keep their signs, degrees and aspects; the Ascendant, Midheaven and house cusps move because they depend on where the horizon was. Astrologers read it as how your chart expresses itself in that place.
Astrocartography maps the lines on the globe where each planet would sit on an angle. A relocation chart is the full chart for one actual city, houses included. This calculator does the second: pick the cities you are really considering and see the whole chart in each, then use the astrocartography map for the world view.
The Rising sign and degree, the Midheaven, all twelve house cusps and therefore which house each planet sits in. Any planet within a few degrees of a relocated angle becomes prominent in that place. Signs, degrees and aspects between planets never change.
Yes. Relocation moves the angles and houses, and those need the exact time. Without it the relocated chart would have placeholder angles, so the calculator asks for the time before comparing.
