Every entry below is solved from the Swiss Ephemeris, the engine that casts your chart, and given in UTC: the five slow planets the sweep follows, their sign changes and stations, the retrograde periods that overlap the year, and the positions the year opens and closes on. Five eclipses, solved to the minute: two solar and three lunar, the lunar ones all penumbral. The solar pair falls on the Aquarius and Leo axis, and each has its own page that maps the eclipse degree onto your houses. The window sweep does not count eclipses (a window is a slow-planet contact), so read them alongside your windows, not instead of them.
We swept 44,560 birth charts through this page's own calculation: two random births for every calendar day from 1950 to 2010, at a random minute in 25 cities, cast on the production engine. Every one of them holds at least one 2027 window, and the average chart holds 10.34 before the page keeps its strongest nine, which is why most results show nine. The year is busy for nearly everyone; what separates one chart from another is which planet reaches which point, and when.
In 2027 Saturn runs between 8° and 27° Aries, Neptune between 1° and 6° Aries, Uranus between 1° and 9° Gemini, Pluto between 4° and 7° Aquarius, and Jupiter runs through late Leo until July 26 and Virgo after it, so the Sun signs those degrees aspect by conjunction, square and opposition carry the most windows to the Sun. Three things shape the sweep in 2027 and make it different from the year before. Saturn (8° Aries on January 1, 27° Aries at its August station, 21° Aries at year end) and Neptune (between 1° and 6° Aries) travel Aries together all year, so early cardinal placements, in Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn, get the conjunction or the square this year. Uranus spends the whole year in Gemini, between 1° and 9° Gemini, reaching early mutable placements in Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces. Jupiter changes sign once, from Leo into Virgo on July 26, so a Leo Sun gets its Jupiter window in the first half of the year and a Virgo Sun in the second. Mars retrogrades once (January 10 to April 1), Mercury three times, and Venus not at all.
A window opens when Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune or Pluto comes within 1.2° of a conjunction, square, trine or opposition to your natal Sun, Moon, Ascendant, Mercury, Venus or Mars, and closes when the planet leaves that orb. Retrograde re-entries up to 110 days apart merge into one window with a pass count, so one transit stays one story. The Moon crosses your whole chart every month and the Sun every year; their transits are weather. Jupiter takes about a year to cross one sign, Saturn nearly three, and Uranus, Neptune and Pluto far longer, so when one of them reaches a degree your chart occupies, it holds that conversation for weeks and returns to it through retrogrades. Those are the stretches a year is remembered by, and they are what this calculator dates.
Your Ascendant moves about one degree every four minutes of clock time, and 92.8% of census charts have an Ascendant window in 2027. Without a birth time the sweep still runs on the Sun, Mercury, Venus and Mars, and places the Moon only as well as the day allows (it moves about thirteen degrees a day); with one, the Ascendant joins the sweep and every window gains its house. This calculator computes: it sweeps every day of 2027 with the Swiss Ephemeris, checks the slow planets (Jupiter through Pluto) against your natal Sun, Moon, Ascendant, Mercury, Venus and Mars within a tight orb, and returns the windows that are exact for your chart alone. Nothing is pre-written; two people get the same result only if they share a birth chart.
A stretch of days when a slow-moving planet holds a tight aspect (conjunction, square, trine or opposition, within 1.2°) to one of your natal points. Because these planets retrograde, one window can contain several exact passes months apart; the calculator merges those into a single window and counts the passes. In the census, 11.5% of the windows shown return for a second exact pass. Astrologers read those stretches as the year's marked seasons rather than one-day events.
Windows to your Sun, Mercury, Venus and Mars hold with the date alone; the Moon moves about thirteen degrees a day, so Moon windows need at least an approximate time. Your Ascendant moves about a degree every four minutes of clock time, so Ascendant windows need a reasonably accurate birth time: 92.8% of the charts in our census have one in 2027, so a missing time hides a real part of the year. February 6 (annular solar eclipse at 17° Aquarius) and August 2 (total solar eclipse at 9° Leo) for the Sun, and February 20 (1° Virgo), July 18 (25° Capricorn), August 17 (24° Aquarius) for the Moon, all three lunar eclipses penumbral. Times are solved from the ephemeris to the minute in UTC. Eclipses are not counted as windows here, because a window is a slow-planet contact; the two solar eclipses have their own pages that map the eclipse degree onto your houses.
Three times: February 9 to March 3 (5° Pisces back to 20° Aquarius); June 10 to July 4 (6° Cancer back to 27° Gemini); October 7 to October 28 (4° Scorpio back to 19° Libra). Each one starts in a water sign and ends in an air sign. Mercury is not part of the window sweep, which follows the five slow planets, but the dates are solved by the same engine.
No Venus retrograde falls in 2027. Mars turns retrograde once, January 10 at 10° Virgo, and stations direct April 1 at 20° Leo. The Mars retrograde page maps that arc onto your houses.
On January 1: Saturn 8° Aries, Neptune 1° Aries, Uranus 2° Gemini (retrograde), Pluto 4° Aquarius, Jupiter 26° Leo (retrograde), Chiron 26° Aries (retrograde), North Node 22° Aquarius (mean). On December 31: Saturn 21° Aries, Neptune 3° Aries, Uranus 6° Gemini (retrograde), Pluto 5° Aquarius, Jupiter 27° Virgo, Chiron 0° Taurus (retrograde), North Node 3° Aquarius (mean). The only slow-planet sign change of the year is Jupiter into Virgo on July 26; Chiron enters Taurus on April 14. Counting windows to the natal Sun in the census, the Sun signs reached most often are Taurus (100%, mostly Jupiter), Sagittarius (100%, mostly Jupiter), Aries (98.3%, mostly Saturn), Leo (98.3%, mostly Saturn); the least, Aquarius (82.5%) and Scorpio (64.5%). Every sign still averages 9.48 or more windows across all six points, because the Moon, Ascendant, Mercury, Venus and Mars are not tied to your Sun sign. Your date fixes your natal Sun, Mercury, Venus and Mars to within about a degree, but only places your Moon inside a thirteen-degree arc; a birth time and place pin the Moon and add the Ascendant. The calculator then walks every day of 2027, computes where Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto stand, and records each day one of them sits within 1.2° of a major aspect to those points.
